Have you tried to book an appointment with your doctor lately?

Chances are you faced a lengthy wait time – the Australian Bureau of Statistics say almost half of people who need to see a GP for urgent care have to wait for 24 hours or more. This is especially true if you need to see a GP out of hours or happen to live somewhere other than a major city.

Fortunately, there’s a faster, more convenient way to see a doctor. Citro’s new partner Instant Consult can connect you to a fully-qualified and experienced GP via a video call, from anywhere in Australia.

A doctor you can trust

So when you can’t get in to see your regular GP, a trusted Instant Consult online doctor is there for you instead. You don’t have to leave the comfort of home and you get to see someone straight away.

All Instant Consult doctors are registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), as required by the Medical Board of Australia. The service upholds the standards developed by the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) and the Australian College of Rural & Remote Medicine (ACRRM) for medical services.

Instant Consult was also recently honoured with a GHP Global Excellence Award for Best for Online Medical Services and Consultancy. This award recognises the entire team’s dedication to providing top-tier healthcare that’s accessible to everyone, anytime, anywhere.

Fast attention to the services you need

As well as offering general medical advice, an Instant Consult doctor can quickly sort you out with services like issuing a medical certificate, renewing a repeat prescription, or writing most new prescriptions, including compound scripts.

These are provided as electronic prescriptions, which are sent straight to your phone or email as a token for you to present at any pharmacy for dispensing. If for any reason you can’t receive a token, a traditional prescription can be sent directly to the local pharmacy you nominate, or you can have your prescription posted to you.

Your Instant Consult GP can also send you for pathology (like a blood test) or radiology (like mammogram or x-ray) services. They might also refer you on to appropriate medical specialists, such as a dermatologist, endocrinologist, cardiologist or psychiatrist.

Easy, convenient access every day

Accessing the Instant Consult service is simple. You don’t have to make an appointment and can see a doctor via video call anytime between 6am and midnight (AEST), 7 days a week, 365 days a year. That’s right, unlike most GPs, an Instant Consult doctor is even available on weekends and public holidays.

All you need is access to the internet and a camera and speaker installed on the device you are using. It’s super easy if you download the Instant Consult app for either Apple IOS or Android to access the service on your phone or tablet, but if you’re on your computer, using Google or Safari is okay too.

Once you’ve got the technology in place, sign up to Instant Consult and log into the service. You’ll instantly be able to see how long the wait time is (usually just minutes) and you’ll be guided through the process to quickly see a doctor.

Peace of mind from home

There’s something very comforting about being seen by a GP in your own home – no travel time, no wait time and no need to venture out when you’re not feeling your best.

Instant Consult doctors are all caring professionals who are genuinely dedicated to your health and wellbeing. Every day, every night, every weekend, every public holiday and every day in between an Instant Consult doctor is there for you.
